random update....
Yesterday two really cute things happened in my classes. In my youngest class, of 3-5 year olds, I was making the rounds of "hello, how are you" and all of a sudden one of the kids got up from across the room and came over to give me a kiss on the cheek. Monkey see monkey do, and I had 10 kisses from my kids, adorable!!!!
In another class, slightly older, maybe 6-8, we were doing the dialogue, "I like pizza!" and "I like pizza, too!" and I hold up two fingers to let them know they need to add the 'too' to the sentence. And sure enough, at one point it was "I like pizza" "I like pizza too" "I like pizza three!" Stuff like that always makes me happy, it's really amazing how quickly they pick things up and expand on them.
Also regarding work. I mentioned before that they changed my schedule so I now work Tues-Fri evening (all afternoon weds), and all day on the weekend, really far away. And I was pissed because while on the weekend I was there from 9-5 I only had 2 or 3 hours of class. huuuuuge waste of time. well, so wihle my weekends are quite long and it prevents me from being about to stay out late (which may be a good thing), I figure as long as I can be productive (aka study) during those free hours then all is well.
My Chinese studying is okay, gone a bit stale recently but I'mt rying to pick back up. I had a conversation with a couple friends last night about handwriting and, as lame as this sounds, it got me excited about learning again. It's tough not having a bunch of classmates to bounce ideas off of etc.
also, another friend and I talked about how little actual chinese food we eat, or we eat the same thing all the time (street food and noodles), and this conversation helped to renew my desire to go out and try random dishes. will report back to see if either of these goals are realized.
untl next time, good good study, day day up!
