Man I forgot how much I missed sports. I really haven't competed in anything since volleyball and track in high school. Tonight was my first practice with the Gaelic football team here in Dalian, and may I say, Mikey I think she likes it!
What is Gaelic Football you ask? Well I'm still figuring that one out myself, we did mostly drills tonight. Here's the wikipedia for ya:Gaelic Football
It's a mix between football(soccer), rugby(which i don't really know anything about either), and basketball. none of which I play, but i used to run, and there are hand passes which are kind of like low underhand volleyball serves. And the ladies' team is a little short handed. need 12 for the team (that travels!!!!) and i think tonight we had 7 gals total. I was a bit nervous I would be outrun and played by everyone, but most of the ladies were new, and I'm in slightly better shape than I thought. So all in all it was prettty good, though I'll be hurting a bit in the morning. Mikey's a good coach, not sure if he'll be running all the practices, but i hope so! He was encouraging, helpful, and pushed us just enough. But yeah, it really felt good to be doing drills again. Never thought I'd say that, there were so many times in track that I was bored to death of stupid form drills, and I hope the same thing happens here.
So yeah, good end to a day that started out with dragging myself out of bed not feeling well to chinese class, and skipping swimming for a headache and whatnot.
Tomorrow, class and swimming, go team!
You're playing what? Are you sure you didn't just make this all up?
